An Egyptian blue glazed counterpoise amulet Third Intermediate Period, circa 1000-700 B.C. In the form of a lion-headed aegis, wearing a sun disc and broad collar, above uraei and a rosette, with a suspension loop behind, 38mm.; including one white glazed steatite, with the head of Bes on one side, the underside carved with Bes flanked by cartouches of Tuthmosis III, with a crocodile below and a winged sun disc above, late New Kingdom, 1in. (2.5cm.); and a blue glazed steatite bust of Bes pierced through the feather headdress, Late Period, 11/8in. (2.8cm.); including one of speckled brownish-green stone, one of blue faience, one of striped black and grey faience, one of blue glass, one of red glass and one of carnelian mounted on a modern gold pin, New Kingdom - Late Period, 1in. (2.5cm.) longest, (9)
