Beschreibung:

AN ELEGANT DIAMOND NECKLACE, VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Designed as a rectangular and baguette-cut diamond V-shaped band, trimmed with pear and circular-cut diamonds, terminating with an articulated cluster of pear-shaped diamonds, the three largest weighing approximately 3.43, 2.35 and 1.93 cts., mounted in platinum and 18K white gold, with French hallmarks (center cluster detaches)-- 14.5/8 ins. long Signed by Van Cleef & Arpels, No. 79.469 In the 1950s, Van Cleef & Arpels created jewelry inspired by the cascade or falling rain. Because of their colorlessness and adaptable shapes, diamonds were the logical gemstone choice for this jewelry. On this necklace, diamonds make up the entire design: rectangular and baguette-cut stones form the stationary V-shaped band from which individual pear-shapes dangle, giving the impression of droplets of water. An articulated cluster of pear-shaped stones hangs straight down from the cusp of the V, further enhancing the intended visual image of dripping water, with the final droplets larger and more plentiful. When worn, the diamonds on this necklace seem to shimmer with the gentle motion of the articulated stones.
