AN EXCEPTIONAL SMALL FAMILLE ROSE MOONFLASK
AN EXCEPTIONAL SMALL FAMILLE ROSE MOONFLASK QIANLONG IRON-RED FOUR-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795) Of flattened circular shape, supported on a spreading oval foot, the short, waisted neck terminating in an incurved mouth and flanked by two loop handles, delicately enamelled within a large circular panel outlined on either side in the Guyuexuan -style with a similar depiction of flowering tree peony growing from rocks on a verdant bank below overhanging branches of prunus, magnolia and peach, all reserved on a pink graviata ground enriched with stylised lotuses both in flower and bud borne on trailing leafy stems, between a trefoil band at the base and ruyi lappets around the mouth, the interior and base enamelled in turquoise, the gilt lines repeated around the base and mouth rim 6 1/8 in.
