An extremely fine 1½in.:1ft scale model of the 4-ton Foden Steam Wagon Reg. No. M 4441, engine no. 3328, of circa 1912 built by G. D. McLeman with copper firetube boiler with fittings including water gauge with glass protector, try-cock, pressure gauge, safety, blower, injector, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include twin cylinders with trunk type crosshead guides, footplate controlled draincocks, two displacement and one mechanical lubricators, studded stuffing boxes, Stephenson's link reverse, wedged and bolted big ends, counterbalanced crankshaft with two roadspeeds mounted outside the hornplates and pierced disc flywheel with foot operated flywheel brake. Chassis details include spoked straked wheels with brass hubcaps, leaf springing, footplate controlled damper, water tank and coal bunker, chain final drive to back axle, hand operated band and block brakes to rear axle and wheels, wooden brewer's dray type body with drop sides and tailgate, framed and planked removable cab roof, driver's seat, front and rear lamps, tool box and much other fine detailing, finished in green with yellow lining, red with black and yellow lining, black and polished brightwork, variously lettered in 'gilt' George Gale & Co:Ltd The Brewery Horndean and in white Speed 5mph -- 12¼ x 31in.
