"Tom Ticklefoot" was a satire on the trial of Sir George Wakeman (falsely accused in the "Popish Plot") before Judge Scroggs. A significant document in the slow march towards freedom of the press and liberty that would play a vital part in the American quest for independence nearly a hundred years later.
