AN IMPORTANT MASSIVE SPINACH-GREEN JADE VASE, COVER AND STAND QIANLONG FANGGU MARK AND DING WEI CYCLICAL DATE, CORRESPONDING TO A.D. 1787 AND OF THE PERIOD In the form of a flattened archaic bronze hu , carved in relief with taotie masks on both sides of the lower body amidst archaistic scrollwork between bands of whorls and below a trefoil collar around the shoulder, the waisted neck incised and gilt with an Imperial poem on one side, flanked by a pair of animal-mask loop handles suspending loose rings, the domed cover surmounted by a dragon finial with four loose rings, all raised on a matching stand with lappets and foliate scrolls 21 in. (53 cm.) high
