An impressive late Victorian oak boardroom table clock, brass 20.3cm arched dial, cut brass spandrels, the arch set with three subsidiary setting dials: chime/silent, slow/fast adjuster & chime choice, silvered Roman chapter, matted centre English three train fusee eight-day movement chiming on eight bells and striking on a gong, arched top scumbled to resemble amboyna, five brass pineapple finials, brass inlaid tympanum, arched bevelled glass door flanked by fluted Corinthian columns with cast brass capitals, fretted side and back, glyphic frieze above plain base on bun feet, 74cm high, c.1890 This clock is very much in the style of A & H Rowley, of 180 Gray's Inn Road, London; examples of this level of opulence were then catalogued at £42.
