An Indian silver belt buckle. 19th century or later. Designed in two sections which clip together forming a composition of three finely engraved depictions in relief of Hindu goddesses. To the centre is a representation of Sarasvati, the Hindu goddess of learning, the arts and cultural fulfillment and is flanked by Shri-Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and fertility and Parvati, the goddess of power, love and spiritual fulfillment. Combined they form the divine trinity known as the Tridevi. 3.9 in (10 cm) width, 3 in (7.5 cm) height. Weight 65 grams.
