An Indo-Portuguese mother-of-pearl dish, Gujarat, India, 16th Century of shallow round form with curved edges, on a cusped base composed of two rows of rectangular mother-of-pearl plaques, constructed of a double-wall of mother of pearl shapes cut into various shapes, forming a flowerhead in the centre surrounded by lobed petals 21cm. diam.
