An interesting collection of thirty-four walking sticks and caneslate 19th/early 20th century comprising 13 silver-mounted examples with 'crook' handles in malacca, native timbers, bamboo and ebonised wood; 5 carved wood 'Treen' examples, including an unusual example with a finial in the form of a horses head, rosewood stick with 'club' finial and an example with clenched hand terminal stamped 'Pitcairn Island'; 2 silver mounted canes with knop handles; a silver mounted ebonised example with 'Derby' handle and a similar bamboo example mounted with a coin; an example with painted crook type handle in the form of a birds head; 2 silver mounted stag antler L-shaped terminal sticks, a Chinese silver mounted malacca stick, impressed 925; a stick composed of bone with ebonised terminal; a mother of pearl inlaid mahogany cane; an example inlaid with metal wire; a Rwandan Tutsi beadwork walking stick with ring terminal and an English shooting stick with hinged dividing handle together with three English glass examples, one hollow and filled with beads arranged in patterns (34)longest 106cm.; 3ft. 5 3/4in. longest glass example 100cm.; 3ft. 3 1/2in.Condition reportA very decorative group.
