An Irish George III beaded glass oval wall mirror, late 18th century, 74cm high, 49cm wide For closely related examples of mirrors, see Christie's, New York, 20th May 2014, Connoisseur's Eye, Lot 81 ($10,000), and Christie's, New York, 20th October 2011, 500 Years: Decorative Arts Europe, Lot 566 ($10,000). Condition Report: Some marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Mirror plate with the expected depletion, losses and grey spots. Some of the beads to the edge of the mirror appear to be old replacements (they are slightly larger in size). Some additional scratches to mirror plate. Some losses to putty at edge of mirror plate. Supporting blocks and screws to back have age but could possibly be replacements. Hanging fixture to back has moved position. Slightly recesses area where it once sat visible.
