AN ISLAMIC CLEAR GLASS ENGRAVED BEAKER 9TH-10TH CENTURY A.D. Of gently tapering form, engraved with wheel-cut linear decoration, panels of wave motif interspersed with two schematic birds, band of zigzags above and below, repaired with restoration, 5½ in. (14 cm.) high; a Sassanian green glass faceted bowl, the deep bowl with four registers of hexagonal facets, seven others surrounding large circular facet on base, repaired, 3rd-7th Century A.D., 3 in. (7.7 cm.) high; a Parthian iridescent pale glass moulded bowl, the exterior with petals radiating from the base, short lip, repaired, 4 in. (10.2 cm.) diam.; a Parthian iridescent turquoise glass beaker, the exterior with slight vertical ribbing radiating from the base, applied handle, repaired, 2 7/8 in. (7.4 cm.) high, both circa 3rd Century A.D.; and a group of repaired mainly Islamic glass beakers and bowls including a mould-blown clear beaker with frieze of stylized birds, part restored, 9th-10th Century A.D., 2¾ in. (7 cm.) high; a shallow iridescent glass dish with wheel-cut petal decoration on exterior, restored, 8th-9th Century A.D., 4in.
