An Italian Rococo style gilt wood parlor suite Print Mid 19th century, comprising a settee (41.5'' H x 59'' W x 23'' D), two armchairs (37.5'' H x 26'' W x 20'' D) and two side chairs (39'' H 17.5'' W x 18'' D), the frames elaborately carved with foliate scrolls and rocaille, upholstered with gilt and polychromed stamped leather depicting cherubs and floral trophies within foliate scroll borders, 5 pcs, , est: $3000/5000 *Price Realized: $3,600.00 Condition: Structurally sound. General marks, scratches, and nicks to finish revealing white gesso and bare wood. Shrinkage cracks to joints. One side chair with extensive professional overpainted repairs and restorations to frame of chair back and crest, with some remaining shrinkage cracks. General dryness, cracks, rubbed wear and fading to leather, with losses to polychrome and gilt decoration. One armchair with cracks and a tear to leather on front of chair back. Rear of back of settee with tears to silk upholstery.
