An Italian silver and gilt-metal large monstrance, probably Rome, late 18th century on four massive paw feet, the triangular base applied with oval shields chased with figures of St. Dominic and the Virgin and one engraved with an inscription, tri-form architectural stem hung with swags and husks, detachable top chased with numerous cherubs in clouds surrounded by rays, all secured with a metal rod and the base with a wood block apparently unmarked height 41 in. 104cm
