AN ITALIAN SILVER BED WARMER MARK OF FRANCESCO CEPPI, MILAN, CIRCA 1850 The bowl lobed circular, the hinged cover pierced with the initial 'M' below a crown and within trailing foliage, the detachable turned wood handle with silver finial, marked under bowl and on handle 31 in. (79 cm.) long The initial is almost certainly that of Maria Adelaide, Queen of Sardinia, (1822-1855), wife of Vittorio Emanuele II, King of Italy, (1820-1878).
