An ivory netsuke of a sage 19th Century, incised signatures to bases seated wearing a draped hat and robes, holding an open book, with a small demon standing beside him holding a club, on a shaped base -- 13/8in. (3.5cm.) wide; and another ivory netsuke of a man wearing long robes kneeling over a further figure on a cabbage leaf -- 1½in. (3.8cm.) wide, (minor rubbing). See Illustration. (2)
