The later edition has a title-page and contents leaf and the illustrations are presented as 8 double-page plates. Together, 3 volumes. 5x7½. Housed together in custom cloth box. Rare copies of these marvelous illustrations with human and animal cariacatures representing the crown heads and the nations of the world on parade; looking very much like a caucus race in Wonderland. Lot Amendments Condition: Colored: Expertly rebacked to match, corners and text near backstrip touched up, mild scraping and light spots to boards; some light spotting within, soiling near folds, folds repaired. Uncolored: Expertly rebacked to match, minor darkening & spots to boards; some foxing, some inconspicuous fold repairs. Later edition: Light rubbing to extremities; some splitting at centerfolds.
