AN UNUSUAL BRAZILIAN GOLD-MOUNTED CARVED COCONUT GOBLET UNMARKED, PROBABLY LAST QUARTER OF 18TH CENTURY Carved with foliate scrolls and set with piqué-work beading, stiff leafage on foot and the sides with two oval panels, one reading Lembrança de Diamantina , the other carved with a bird in flight above a scroll with legend Gratidao , the upper gold rim with later English inscription 4 7/8 in. high (12.2 cm.)
