AN UNUSUAL GEORGE II MAHOGANY STOOL POSSIBLY IRISH, CIRCA 1750 49cm high, the top 40cm diameter Condition Report: There are scratches, marks, knocks, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use. There are losses, observations and restorations including: of unusual form with one side of the 'circular' stool flat, presumably to stand in a hall or against a wall; with later green velvet upholstery; there is some evidence of worm; some construction cracks to the sections above the legs; some rough rubbed signs of use to the 'knee' beneath the shells and to some of the pronounced carving of the claw and ball feet; possible clamp marks to the underside of the flat seat rail; some dark staining to the inner seat rail with some later blocks, sections of wood and screws visible.
