AN UNUSUAL LARGE PAINTED GRAY POTTERY FIGURE OF AN ENTERTAINER ?HAN/THREE KINGDOMS/SIX DYNASTIES The broad-shouldered stocky dwarf modelled standing with one knee slightly bent in a half turn, his arms raised before him with clenched fists each hollowed to hold an object, wearing a short-sleeved orange-striped tunic stretched tightly across his protruding belly and bottocks, with thick muscular neck supporting a head with sharply defined features, knife-cut with deep-set bulging eyes and ridged brow, high cheekbones and pointed upturned nose with flared nostrils above a thin-lipped snear, his face, hands and neck picked out in pale pinkish-orange pigment, gray, orange and white slip remaining, the body pierced with a circular aperture at the right hip and below the left shoulder--19 in.
