AN UNUSUAL PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE BOWL AND COVER 18TH/19TH CENTURY The bowl with deep sides carved with nine lotus petals that flare up to the rim, one carved with Buddha, the other eight carved with one of the Eight Buddhist Emblems ( bajixiang ) above a row of further overlapping lotus petals, raised on a domed foot carved at the top with a beaded knop and around the sides with a further band of petals overlapping eight down-curved petals carved with lotus blossoms, the domed cover similarly carved below a lotus pod finial, the semi-translucent stone of pale greenish-white color; together with a dark spinach-green jade stand carved on top as a lotus pod and around the sides with lotus petals Bowl and cover 4¾ in. (12 cm.) high, with stand 6 3/8 in. (16.2 cm.) high (2)
