AN UNUSUAL SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE OF AN EQUESTRIAN TANG DYNASTY The rider of Turco-Mongolian type, his painted head turned to the right and well modeled with mouth open and brow furrowed below a black cap, wearing a long green tunic over cream-glazed pants, his hands positioned and hollowed for holding reins, seated atop an amber saddle and splash-glazed saddle cloth, the spirited horse covered in a straw glaze, some restoration--14 7/8 in. (37.8 cm.) high
