His son Henry Angelo reuses these plates here to ‘convince the Nobility and Gentry of the utility of the art’ of fencing; the plates ‘may preserve the remembrance of the personal instruction which [the student has] received’. Henry’s work adds six plates on the broad sword by Rowlandson, and a memoir and portrait of the fencing master the Chevalier de St George. Thimm pp.10-11; Vigeant p.30.
