"Lunar Landing Mission Profile," large lithograph, 30 by 11 inches with U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) identification "8 69 – 80 3." Perhaps the single best visual representation of the complex flight procedures required to accomplish an Apollo lunar landing ever released by NASA. The diagram has 85 labeled steps illustrating how the lunar mission unfolds. The outward bound journey starts with the Saturn V launch and placement of CSM / LM into Earth orbit, the engine burn to place these spacecrafts on a trajectory to the moon, then mid-course corrections when needed, and the critical insertion into lunar orbit. The means to accomplish the moon landing and return are shown with dual lunar drawings. The last events are the steps taken to leave lunar orbit and return to Earth with a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean. Signed by twelve Apollo astronauts, including a member from each of the nine Apollo missions which went to the moon's vicinity and a member from all six lunar landing flights. VIVIDLY INSCRIBED AND SIGNED AT THE LOWER EARTH ORBIT AREA: "1st Manned Apollo Flight, Walt Cunningham, Apollo 7." NEAR THE LOWER LUNAR DRAWING: "James Lovell, Apollo 8, 13." NEAR THE EARTH ORBITAL AREA: "Rusty Schweikart, 1st Manned LM Flight, Apollo 9" and "First LM to Lunar Orbit, Tom Stafford, Apollo X Cdr, LM-4." ABOVE THE UPPER LUNAR DRAWING: "First Lunar Landing, Buzz Aldrin, Apollo XI" and "2nd Lunar Landing, Alan Bean, Apollo 12." BETWEEN THE EARTH AND LUNAR DRAWINGS: "Fred Haise, Apollo 13, Planned 3rd Lunar Landing – but boom!" and "Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14, 3rd lunar landing." Also: "Fourth Lunar Landing, Dave Scott, Apollo 15" and "Al Worden, Apollo 15, Fourth Lunar Landing" plus "Charles M. Duke, Jr. Apollo 16, Fifth Lunar Landing." NEXT TO THE LOWER LUNAR DRAWING: "Gene Cernan, 1st LM to Moon, Apollo X, Last Lunar Landing, Apollo XVII."
