Aristide Petrilli (1868-1930., Italy) carved marble bust depicting the ancient Greek muse Saffo (also spelled Sappho); the figure wears heavy robes and a laurel crown, an excellent large size with tinted highlights. In very nice condition with only a minor repair to 1 crown leaf; signed on the back "Gadd= Prof APetrilli, Firenze". 27.5 in. high x 21 in. wide x 14 in. deep.
