Updated edition of the Aristotle-Averroes edition printed by the Giunta brothers, in 18th-century French red morocco gilt.First issued in Venice in 1550-52, the Giunta edition was the most complete of the Latin translations of the works of Aristotle and Averroes and other related texts produced up to that time. It represents the high point of interest in Averroes in northern Italy, especially at the University of Padua. Guigard vol. 2, p. 376; Olivier 2333; STC Books Printed in Italy, vol. I p.97. 12 volumes, octavo (174 x 117mm). Printed in Latin. Early 18th-century French red morocco gilt, all edges marbled and gilt, with arms of Zacharie Morel (a little rubbed and soiled).
