[circa 1618-1620], signed by Bacon with initials at the foot, annotated in a different hand ('This petic[i]on seemeth reasonable'), the petition written in a miniscule hand in the central portion (205 x 137mm) of one page, folio , integral blank leaf (dust stains, remains of guard, ownership stamp in blank area of recto). Robert Heath (later Attorney General) requests that the executors of his co-lessee of the Manor of Torrington in Norfolk be required either to pay the sum outstanding or resign their interest in the lease, to enable him to carry out improvements to the marshes and sewerage.
