Provenance : Antonio Orsetti (early ownership inscription on front free endpaper); two early signatures superimposed on title; Army Medical Library, Washington D.C. (ink stamp on title). FIRST EDITION of this collection on balneology, incorporating the writings of Avicenna, Averros, Avenzohar, Guainerio, Gesner, Savonarola, Petrus de Abano, Maimonides and more than 70 other authorities. The woodcut on leaf pp3 r is an illustration of the use of the baths at Plombires. Signature qqq (leaves 489-497) is an addition, containing a "De balneis compendium, ex Hippocrate et Galeno" by Giovanni Antonio Secchi.
