BANKSY (b 1974) Peckham Rock ‘Shopping Trolly's' Cork Postcard, British Museum with Provenance, 2018 Description : Banksy has translated his infamous and Iconic ‘Trolley Hunters’ stencil Art piece into a concrete pastiche. One of Banksys infamous publicity stunts, he secretly infiltrated the British Museum and displayed his artwork. Comes with a transparent postcard stand and full provenance. The authenticated postcard is laminated construction of cork inner sandwiched with front artwork, and certificate of authenticity to verso, with a cork brown centre. Fully licenced by the British Museum and authorised by Banksys Pest Control. This is an affordable Banksy authorised collectors gem and comes with authenticated purchase and delivery records. Included are the British Museum purchase, shipping receipts and past owners record. Peckham Rock 'Shopping Trolly's' Banksys satire of ‘ethical shopping’ is a Wooden Cork Postcard and a Lifesize facsimile of the original Felt Tip Pen on Concrete original hung on display by Banksy in the British Museum. His own parodied work in Cork has been made by the British Museum under license from Pest Control in March of 2005, Banksy entered the museum world—literally. The Postcard Measures - 7 x 4 3/4 in (18 x 12) cm and is made of Cork Card. Disguised in beard and hat, he hung his own parodied works in the British Museums as surreptitiously as he would paint a bridge or wall. Shopping Trolleys, a faux primitive drawing on stone accompanied by a didactic panel noting its origins from the “Post-Catatonic Era” is now in the permanent collection of the British Museum in London.
