exhibition posters on paper each framed and under glass (2) image size 58cm x 41cm each, overall size 63cm x 46cm each Note: The anonymous graffiti artist known as Banksy is perhaps the most controversial street artist of today. He is famous for his stenciled graffiti works, which appear in public spaces around the world. His use of stenciling developed from a need to complete a work quickly, namely to avoid being caught vandalizing by police. Between 15th June and 28th August 2023 at the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow he held his first show in 14 years: Cut & Run featuring stencils and more from his career on the street. “I’ve kept these stencils hidden away for years, mindful they could be used as evidence in a charge of criminal damage. But that moment seems to have passed, so now I’m exhibiting them in a gallery as works of art. I’m not sure which is the greater crime”
