Mounted photographed portrait frontispiece signed by the author (some very light mainly marginal staining). Special binding of full white pigskin by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, top edges gilt, others uncut, slipcase. Provenance : Loelia Westminster (bookplate). ONE OF 50 COPIES , indistinctly numbered. PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed on the front free endpaper, “Loelia [Duchess of Westminster] from Maurice, with best wishes, 1930.” With 3 other books by the same author, namely Hildesheim. Quatre Pastiches (Paris, 1899, half morocco, the author’s copy, presented by Lady Reid to the British Embassy in Paris), Translations: Ancient and Modern (London, [1918], half morocco, original wrappers bound in) and Hildesheim (London, 1924, wrappers, box, ONE OF 115 COPIES SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR). Hildesheim was Baring's first commercial publication.
