Delineations of Cutaneous Diseases: exhibiting the characteristic appearances of the principal genera and species comprised in the classification of the late Dr Willan; and completing the series of engravings begun by that author . London: Longman, 1817. 4 o (266 x 209 mm). 72 stipple-engraved plates printed in colors and finished by hand (a few imprints cropped, minor foxing to text and plates). Nineteenth-century half calf, marbled boards (rubbed at extremities). FIRST BOOK EDITION OF "THE FIRST ATLAS OF DERMATOLOGY" (Garrison-Morton). Bateman was a pupil of Willan, and continued his teacher's work on the classification of skin diseases. Garrison-Morton 3988; Heirs of Hippocrates 1337; Norman 133; Osler 1963; Wellcome II, p.114.
