Unbroken run, Volume 2, Number 1 to Volume 3, Number 4. Profusely illustrated from photographs, drawings and designs. 30x21 cm (11¾x8¼"), original wrappers. Seven issues of this scarce journal produced under the auspices of the Staatliches Bauhaus, the German art school founded by Walter Gropius in Weimar in 1919. The Bauhaus journal was published from 1926 to 1931, its launch coinciding with the opening of the school's new building at Dessau. The modernist text and illustrations in the issues include the work of Gropius, I. Moholy-Nagy, Bayer-Hecht, Hannes Meyer W. Kandinsky, Andreas Feininger and many others. Also included in the lot is a 4-page order form for Bauhaus Bücher. Lot Amendments Condition: Some wear, the pages in the earliest issue coming loose; overall very good. Item number: 283368
