Publisher's blue cloth with printed paper label, pictorial endpaper, housed in a lettered clamshell case. Condition: cloth and paper label rubbed. first edition, primary binding with ‘the reilly &/britton co.’ at the foot of spine. This story reunited Dorothy and the little Wizard of Oz after both are swallowed up by the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. Baum also drew on his experiences during a recent trip to Egypt, Italy and France for this largely underground adventure.
