Matted, framed and glazed (500 x 360mm; not examined outside of the frame). Provenance : sold, Sotheby's, part lot 227, 7 June 1990, to the present consignor).

The image is adapted from Beardsley's design for the cover of the last issue of The Savoy . Beardsley produced the lithograph by adding colour and background lines. The magazine's publisher, Leonard Smithers, was described by Oscar Wilde as 'the most learned erotomaniac in Europe'. Lasner 103b.
