Title within a woodcut historiated border (lacks title of New Testament, first title torn across, margins cut close affecting many headlines, page-numbers and sidenotes, some browning and waterstaining). Early 18th-century calf (worn, covers detached). Provenance : various 18th-century members of the Lancaster family (a few inscriptions at beginning and end). STC 2203; DMH 294. Sold not subject to return. With Saint Augustine's (354-430) Confessions translated ... by William Watts (London, 1631 FIRST EDITION of William Watts' translation, STC 912), a Greek Old Testament, He palaia diatheke kata tous hebdomekonta (Cambridge, 1665, Wing B2719), a volume containing the Book of Common Prayer in Greek (Wing B3632, variant imprint), the Psalter in Greek (not apparently in Wing), the Apocrypha in Greek and the New Testament in Greek (lacking preliminaries), and a first edition of Martin Luther's and Johann Dobneck's Cochlaeus Antwort Johan Cochlaeus auff xci Artickelen, vss dreien Sermone[n] M. luth. gezoge[n] , (Strassburg, 1525, top fore-corners dampstained throughout with slight loss of text from C4 v-D2 v).
