Includes: M.L.D.L.D.L. Mémoires de Maximilien de Bethune, Duc de Sully, principal ministre de Henry le Grand . London: 1745. 8 volumes with 2 additional duplicates for vol. VI & VIII, 12 mo (165 x 94mm). Double engraved portrait frontispieces in vol. I, additional engraved portrait frontispiece. Contemporary full calf, decoratively tooled and stamped in gilt in compartments with morocco onlays, all edges stained red, marbled endpapers. Condition: minimal foxing; spines and covers slightly chipped with some loss, light rubbing to extremities. Provenance: each with ink stamp from the Chateau de Wallenreid Library and Nicolas de Castella inscribed in ink on every title page; M. Rodolph de Castella (bookplate).
