A Description Of the Island of Jamaica; With the other Isles and Territories in America, to which the English are Related...Taken from the Notes of Sr. Thomas Linch Knight, Governour of Jamaica; and other Experienced Persons in the said places. London: Printed by T. Milbourn, and sold by S. Williams Junior 1672. Small 8vo, contemporary calf, worn, front outer joint broken. FIRST EDITION, with the 3 engraved folding maps: "A New and Exact map of ye Isle of Jamaica" ( backed with linen, 3 margins cut to border, a small repair) ; "A Generall Mapp of Carolina" ( 1 1/2-inch tear in blank area repaired ); "A draught of the sea coast and rivers of Virginia, Maryland and New England [and New York]" (a small repair ); the second and third maps with the arms of the Proprietors. Sabin 5966; Wing B3208. Very rare: no copy with the maps listed in ABPC since 1941. A second edition appeared in 1678.
