Joy Clark (born 1937) grew up in Beaconsfield with her parents Isabella and Cecil Clark. The Clarks ran an ironmongers shop in the town and Enid Blyton was a regular customer. For many years whenever one of her books was published, Blyton would kindly sign and give a book to Joy, who was a small child at the time.
