A very fine, rare and large 18K gold and enamel openface centre seconds duplex watch with unusual enamel scene, made for the Chinese market Signed Bovet, London, case no. 323, circa 1830 Bovet's keywound polished and blued steel Chinese duplex movement, finely chased and engraved floral and sunburst decorated gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, sweep centre seconds, large circular case, light blue and translucent champlevé scarlet enamel floral decorated bezel, rim and bow, a finely painted polychrome enamel scene depicting a butterfly and camellia flowers on light green background, case stamped with English hallmarks and numbered 323, cuvette numbered, movement signed 58 mm. diam.
