A very fine, rare and large 18K gold, enamel and pearl-set identical numbered, mirror-image pair of openface centre seconds duplex watches, made for the Chinese market Both signed Bovet, Fleurier, No. 522, circa 1830 MOVEMENTS: manual, finely engraved scroll decorated "Chinese" calibers, duplex escapements DIALS: white enamel, Roman numerals, blued steel spade hands, centre seconds CASES: 18K gold, glazed dust covers, pearl-set rims and polychrome enamel decorated pendants and bows, polychrome champlevé enamel scroll decorated bands, backs decorated with finely painted, mirror-image polychrome enamel bouquet of flowers on light blue background, 64.5 mm. diam. each SIGNED: both movements signed and numbered 522, both cases numbered 522 and stamped J.C.C.
