The writers present the Anglican missionaries working in Tahiti as noble and devoted protectors of the Tahitian natives, working to bring salvation to the benighted Tahitians, whereas the French are portrayed as Popish intriguers and harsh military oppressors. The pamphlet promotes the narrative that the political cession of Tahiti to French power was the result of extortion and force whilst the goodly English supposedly favor self-determination for Tahitians.
