BRUCKNER, Anton (1824-1896). Autograph letter signed ('A. Bruckner') to the pianist and composer Jean-Louis Nicodé in Dresden, Vienna, 26 September [1887], reporting that he has just been to see the publisher Gutmann at the Opera to ask him to send a copy of the 4th Romantic Symphony as soon as it is printed, and enquiring as to the success of the 7th Symphony ('Bin sogleich zum Verleger Gutmann (Opernhaus) gegangen, er möge sobald die 4te romantische Sinfonie gedruckt ist, Hochwolgebornen ein Exemplar übersenden'); a postscript reports the 'dazzling reception' ('glänzendste Aufname') of the 7th Symphony in London under Richter and in Boston under Gericke, as well as a forthcoming performance in New York under Seidl of a symphony and the Te Deum, one page, 4to (punch holes), envelope; with a printed funeral notice for Bruckner, addressed to the same.
