Lot of 18, featuring several photographs of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody outside his cabin on the grounds of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in Brooklyn, performing on horseback, and seated in a tent in costume between performances, ranging in size from 4 x 3.75 in. to 6.6 x 5.25 in. Other highlights include a photograph, 2.5 x 3.25 in., of an aged Gordon William "Pawnee Bill" Lillie with a dog, ca 1940; a printed route sheet from the Wild West Show season of 1907; and card-mounted photograph, 15 x 12 in., showing Buffalo Bill standing alongside the Deadwood Stagecoach, with frontier scout John Y. Nelson perched on top and what appears to be a landscape scene painted on the backdrop behind the group. Lot completed by two additional photographs, one capturing men working in an interior office space, with window shades reading "Barnum & Bailey / Greatest Show on Earth," and the second identified to Charles Belden (1887-1966) of Meetseetse, Wyoming and St. Petersburg, Florida showing ranchers stacking hay.
