18x19.5 cm (7¼x7¾"), matted and framed under plexiglass. Plate from the illustrated children's book "Buffalo Bill," showing the buffalo happily knocking over telegraph poles in the middle of the prairie. Inscribed in pencil beneath the image: "For David Belch with warn greetings from the d'Aulaires." David Belch was head of public relations for the San Francisco Public Library for many years, and, following that, was for a few years part owner of California Book Auction Galleries, predecessor company of PBA Galleries.
