BUSUTTIL, Salvatore. Solenne processione Vaticana del Corpus Domini. Diretta da uno de' Cerimonieri di Sua Santità Gregorio XVI. Rome: Deodato Minelli, 1838. Etched panorama, HAND-COLOURED AND HEIGHTENED IN GOLD THROUGHOUT, a folding continuous strip on 35 sheets (overall 32 x 1400cm), mounted on linen. Title in Italian and French on first two sheets, view of the procession on 33 sheets. Loose as issued within a marbled sheep and thin card chemise, contemporary red morocco slipcase (corners of slipcase neatly repaired). A fine, long and extremely rare panorama of a Papal procession, bright and in complete condition, the participants in each section are numbered, with explanatory text and key beneath. Busuttil was a Maltese artist working in Rome. Major Abbey's collection only had a fragment of the panorama and there is no auction record. Abbey Life 538.
