Beschreibung:

1902 Vintage Winchester Model 1892 Takedown rifle, serial number 203343. 24" full octagon barrel, with full-length take-down magazine tube. Chambered in .44-40 WCF cartridge. Factory-installed Lyman front and rear tang mounted sights. Rear barrel sight slot is filled with a factory-installed blank. Special ordered sights and factory blank confirmed with accompanying Cody research letter, dated November 23, 2021. Blue with case hardened frame, hammer, and rifle-style crescent buttplate. Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. CONDITION: This could quite possibly be the highest condition Winchester Model 1892 Takedown rifle extant. Certainly, the highest condition example I've ever had the privilege seeing. Virtually all the original bright original blue and bright vivid case colors remain throughout. Only the slightest hint of "toning" is visible on the bottom of the takedown lug. No evidence seen on the magazine tube of the gun ever being taken down. Very distinctive original factory polish marks seen through the bright, high polished blue on the receiver. Beautiful, bright "peacock" blue on the loading gate. The wood is near mint with very minor dents along the belly of the stock. The condition of this rare and desirable rifle will be most difficult to improve upon. -MKS- Name Value Accessories Barrel Length 24" Caliber/Bore .44-40 Drop at Comb Drop at Heel FFL Status Curio & Relic Length of Pull Manufacturer Winchester Model 1892 Paperwork Cody Letter Serial Number 203343
