Lot consists of an Izhevsk M44 and Arsenal 26 Type 53 bolt action carbines. (A) Russian M44 carbine manufactured by Izhevsk in 1946. Barrel is import marked on the right side and reads "M44 RUSSIA 7.62x54R/ C.A.I. ST. ALB. VT." Matching numbers include the receiver, barrel, bolt, magazine floorplate, and buttplate. Stock is unnumbered and appears to have been sanded and refinished. Upper handguard appears to be a replacement. Complete with spike bayonet, cleaning rod, and Russian canvas sling. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal applied finish, showing few areas of loss to the finish. Bore is dark, but retains good rifling throughout. Stock retains most of it's reapplied varnish and shows some nicks and indentations from handling and use all around, as well as several repairs. (B) Chinese Type 53 carbine manufactured by Arsenal 26 in 1960. No matching numbers. Carbine is not import stamped. Complete with spike bayonet, cleaning rod, and unmarked canvas sling. CONDITION: Metal components retain traces of arsenal applied blue finish, with the balance turning a grey patina. Dark bore with poor rifling. Stock is good, showing scattered indentations from handling and use, and bares a gouge just behind the rear barrel band. MLW Item Dimensions: L: 40".
