Circa 1955. This American made classic 20 gauge boxlock shotgun is fit with both an (A) 28" and (B) 30" nitro proof blued steel barrels that are built with ejectors and barrel set (A) 2 - 3/4" chambers and barrel set (B) 3” chambers. Barrels (A) are are choked Winchester Skeet 1 and Winchester Skeet 2 while barrels (B) are choked Full and Full. The rib on barrel set (A) is a tapered machined concave rib with a white bead front sight and steel middle bead. The rib on barrel set (B) is a tapered machined concave rib with steel front bead sight. Left barrel of barrel set (B) near breech reads "MODEL 21-WINCHESTER TRADE MARK-20 GAUGE 2 3/4". Bottom of the barrels read "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL” with the right barrel marked “WS-1” and the left marked “WS-2”. Bottom of the barrel’s chamber area have the serial number "21817", "54" and "P". Left barrel of barrel set (B) near breech reads "MODEL 21-WINCHESTER TRADE MARK-20 GAUGE 3 IN.". Bottom of the barrels read "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL” with both barrels marked “FULL”. Bottom of the barrel’s chamber area have the serial number "21817", "55" and "P". The blue finish action with gold color single selective mechanical trigger is marked "SKEET" on the trigger plate ahead of the blued trigger with long tang and a blued top lever with checkered thumbpiece. The safe slide is serrated with "SAFE" in faded gold color on the tang and the guns serial number "1817". Gun is non-auto safe. The fiddleback figured American walnut stock is furnished with 2 checkered panels, pistol hand grip with hard rubber grip cap which reads "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO." and a checkered butt which is currently covered in a non-slip tape. Reinforced beavertail forend with kidney pattern checkering and roll type release. Iron metal is blued and interior metals are also blued with serial number. Interior forend wood also has serial number. The gun resides in an oak and leather case with leather corners, vacant brass disk on top lid and burgundy interior with black and gold Winchester leather trade label affixed to the interior of the top lid. The case also includes a round nickel oil bottle and a 2 nickel-plated 20 gauge "WINCHESTER" snap caps. CONDITION: Excellent. Both barrel sets with approximately 90% blue with rub marks from forend. Action, ejectors, and trigger are sound and the barrels are tight. Stock and forend with slight handling/storage marks. Case is also in excellent condition.
