Large printer's device on title and small device on colophon page, large woodcut folding plate (tear along fold, and short internal tear with old repair on verso); contemporary boards (rebacked). Provenance : Ilfeld, Library (old stamp on verso of title); Wolfenbüttel, Herzog August Bibliothek (stamp and duplicate stamp on verso of title). FIRST EDITION of "the first agricultural bibliography ['Catalogus autorum' pp. 42v-53r] listing some 500 writers elaborately classified, e.g. Greek writers whose works are lost (over 150) or extant, Arabic writers in Latin translations, recent Latin writers not yet published, etc. For lost writers the exact source of citation is given. Camerarius, son of the well-known humanist of the same name, was a physician and botanist" (Breslauer/Folter 26).
